It’s been a little while since we’ve communicated. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve put up a new tune that I wrote and recorded last night/this morning called “God In The City.” It’s something about a man who thinks he sees God living in a penthouse in a city high above him and the rest of the city’s people. jazzrocksoul”’s music is DONE! All mastered and ready to go, and the artwork is rapidly approaching the finishing
point. I’m looking at a late-June release date, which i’ll announce very soon!

’ll be playing a gig at Smith’s Olde Bar called “500 Songs For Kids,” a charity project assembled by Josh Rifkind and a team of very hard working people (I know because I’ve watched them sit for HOURS at the same table at Park Tavern while I work!). The gig will be taking place in the first week of May and entails several local artists covering
each of the songs on Rolling Stone’s list of the “500 Greatest Songs Ever Written” (god I LOVE lists like that :^P )

As of this writing, I’m back at work at the Park Tavern after a lengthy vacation during the winter and getting re-used to having food and drink spilled on me. So if anyone should feel like coming in and say hi and/or watching the spectacle that is me working, come by Park Tavern on just about any weekend. I’ll be there! Beyond that we have the….

”jazzrocksoul” is approaching completion! We’ve just to do the mastering and the artwork is taking shape! I’m hoping to have it released by early May!

I’m in the home stretch with “jazzrocksoul!” The album is about to be mastered and the artwork finalized and it’ll be sent in to be printed up!

I’m coming to you live from a coffeeshop next to the PIedmont River. If you don’t know what the Piedmont river is, it’s Piedmont Avenue when it rains. Rain splashing the window next to me, it’s perfect day to be inside with a warm cup of tea or coffee.

I just wanted to to say hey and give you a bit of an update. I’ve been practicing hard trying to get my live set “tight as a tick’s ass” as a friend of mine says. It’ll be like what I’ve been doing but times 10! I can’t wait to get out and play and show you guys what I’ve been doing.

And the record. Pretty close to being done! We just have to master it and get it all printed up and it’ll be ready to be sold! I’m excited because I’m tired of telling people “I’m working on a record,” I want to be able to say, “I FINISHED a record!” I’ve got some cool ideas for a potential CD release party that I’ll let you know about if/when they happen.

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve written, it’s been busy! The Atlantis Music Conference was this past week and it was a great time even though I wasn’t playing. But rest assured, next year will be the year of Adam James! The record is coming along well, I’m just waiting for mixes on the most recently recorded material, and I’m even thinking about expanding it one more track possibly. It’s just a thought, but who knows, it may happen!

G’day mates!

A little pirate lingo for you there! Just wanted to send a quick update to let you know that the recording process is going really well! We’ve got “We Could Be So Happy” just about done, only waiting on some piano, “You Are My Star” looking pretty as we’ve got most of that one done as well, and “Shine” coming up around the bend only needing some guitars, piano, and vocals.

Don’t forget, I’ll be playing September 17th at Park Tavern around 6:30pm. This is where the correction comes in. ‘member how I said Gomez would be playing this show? Well, uh, I, uh, kinda lied about that. I was TOLD they would be playing, but apparently are not. So as of now, you’ve got me, Regina Spektor, and a mystery artist playing on the
17th. And surprises are always fun, right? :D

-Well it’s official! The recording part of my upcoming EP “jazzrocksoul” is DONE!!! All that needs to be done is mixing, mastering, getting the art together, and printing this beast up! My tentative plan is to hold onto it until the new year, in the meantime, I’ll be revamping my live show at various open mics around the area. I dont’ know if I’ll be booking many “official” gigs as of right now, but I may come out of the woodshed here and there to play some. I’ll have a couple new videos up at www.adamjames.net and I’ll be working on a few projects back at the house that I’ll probably put samples of up on Myspace.
